We visited North Wales earlier in the year – Easter, in fact. I was sorting through some photos and realised I’d not posted any images here.
I rather liked this view over the Menai Strait:
And this view was spectacular:
Though I don’t fancy this bloke’s job.
Once again, a stark reminder of how dangerous some jobs were a century ago. This guy would have worked through the night, underground, alone, by the light of a single candle. His job was to chip loose stones from the ceiling of the slate caverns to prevent injuries from falling rocks the following day.
