I have to confess I haven’t played with Vista much. I’m not one of the A-list bloggers who got sent a free laptop by Microsoft and then whinged about it. It won’t fit on a single CD – it’s a DVD installation. It doesn’t actually DO anything that Windows XP doesn’t. Sure, it has some interesting “chrome” – features that, like chrome plating on a 60′s car, do nothing for the car but improve it’s appearance.

I’m waiting to see how long it is before someone at work insists they must have it because the whizzy interface is essential to their daily job. Hell, most people only use two applications all day – Outlook and Internet Explorer.

And I’m waiting until I decide to replace my computer and can get an OEM licence before I try it at home, because there’s no way I’m shilling out that amount of money for something, when I can get a good alternative for free.

I’m prepared to be convinved otherwise, but right now, I’m not sure it’s going to be much to write home about.
